Immersion in a world of Vampires in the Dark Ages and a haunting musical barrage of Midnight Syndicate and Nox Arcana is what inspired this... It took many hours in its completion and I think it remains my best photo-manipulation yet.
Bethanie Pendragon is a vampire of Lasombra blood, a clan of Vampires who control the shadows of the night and cast no reflection in return. The highest of the High clans in the time of the Dark Ages, the Lasombra are the noblest clan of the thirteen. Though young in life and younger still in undeath, Bethanie is now of noble blood in more ways than one.
<EDIT> I finally added a candle-light glow the hair on the left side of her face. That had been bugging me a little for a long time! The watermark is a lot more subtle now. Yay! Still remains my best photo-manipulation to date, IMO.
Here is a breakdown of some of the components that make this pic.Check it out if you're interested!
Thank you so much! Its one of the first times I've tried doing anything quite with so much feeling and detail, so I really appreciate hearing that (apparently) I'm doing something right! lol. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
You blended the skull in very welll, and the overall look to this picture is great! I like how you made it all blend so it actually looks like one picture!
I'm also familiar with Vampire: The Dark Ages and Midnight Synidate.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like what I've done!
Yeah, Midnight Syndicate definitely seems to complement Dark Ages Vampire well, and if you haven't already you should definitely check out Nox Arcana... It is done by the guy who did a lot of artwork and speaking vocals for Midnight Syndicate, and it is definitely as haunting and beautiful! There are songs for download on their website if you care to check it out.
I really love the atmosphere of Dark Ages Vampire... there is something so dark and lovely about it. It is such a dynamic age for vampires to exist in, I think White Wolf pulled it off pretty good! Its nice to run into someone who knows what I'm talking about with Dark Ages Vampire being so much less popular or well known than VtM or VtR...
Anyway, enough rambling, thanks again for the comment and stock!

Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
